Our mission is to provide quality craft beer while being a thought leader in the Southern Arizona brewing community. By valuing our community and promoting the progress of community partners and sustainability, we strive to create an inclusive space and atmosphere for our customers and employees. We hope to continue pursuing this mission by implementing sustainable practices, including local ingredients as much as possible, and promoting empowerment through education.

  • Abran Ramos

    Creative Content Manager

    Abran is originally from Albuquerque, NM and received a B.A. in Journalism and B.A. in Communications. He not only creates content for Borderlands, but for other Tucson businesses as well. His favorite borderlands beer is the German Chocolate Cake porter.

  • Ayla Kapahi

    Director of Production Operations and Head Brewer

    A U.C. Davis (B.A./B.S.) and UofA (M.A.) graduate, Ayla has been brewing commercially in Tucson for over 5 years. Ayla aims to empower women and minorities in the craft beer industry through education and collaboration. When she's not busy wrangling brewery hoses or tending to yeast, you can find her on a road or mountain bike ride. Ayla’s favorite beer styles are Czech pilsners and barrel-aged sours. Her favorite Borderlands beers are the sour fiesta series and La Miche.

  • Bailee Rollins

    Creative Director and Beertender

    UofA (B.A./B.S.) and UofA (M.Ed.) Bailee grew up in North Phoenix and landed in Tucson to pursue an education. She instantly fell in love with Tucson’s culture and community, and after 8 years considers it home. She discovered her love for craft beer when first tasting Borderlands Citrana, a Sour Gose. She is passionate about poetry, BiG data and equitable education. You can find her on both sides of the bar.

  • Brianna Mansfield


    Born and raised in Tucson, she proudly considers herself a Tucsonan. Brianna attended the University of Arizona to pursue Cultural Anthropology (B.A.) and International Security (M.A.). She has a deeply rooted appreciation for the Sonora Desert and actively promotes environmental education and advocacy in Southern Arizona. She is an outdoor enthusiast who is always looking for a new adventure and has a questionable passion for road trips and getting lost. Her favorite Borderlands beer is the Noche Dulce.

  • Es Teran

    Chief Executive Officer

    Catch him at the brewery often with his best buddy Troy, a 14 year old pit-bull. He’s a motorcycle and Jeep enthusiast who really enjoys traveling. His favorite beer is Sitting in a Tin Can.

  • Lawrence (Larry) Estrada

    Brand Ambassador and Beertender

    A Tucson native, Die hard Wildcats fan, Larry loves sharing his passion and enthusiasm for craft beer with others. If you can’t find Larry at the Taproom, give him five minutes and he will be right back. His favorite Borderlands beer is a crisp and refreshing Perfectly Pale Ale.

  • Pablo Padilla

    Director of Operations

    Originally from Guadalajara Jalisco, Pablo has been in Arizona since he was 13 years old. He earned a B.A. in Political Development and B.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona. If he’s not in the taproom or on the Pinches food truck, he enjoys camping with his family, or on hunting trips with his boys. His favorite Borderlands beer are Correcaminos and Sitting in a Tin Can.

  • Peter Corrigan

    Beertender & Green Team Captain

    Born and raised in Chicago. Earned a BA in Economics from DePaul University before falling in love with the mountains and desert of Tucson. Works full time at the University of Arizona where he earned a Masters in Higher Education.  Married with twins. Pete can be found behind the bar at Borderlands on, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

  • Ryan Jones

    Beertender and Server

    Ryan moved here from Santa Barbara, California. It was a pretty dramatic change, but he really enjoys the outdoors and open spaces. Not only can you find him behind the bar at Borderlands but also at the University of Arizona Library. He can serve you beer and give research assistance. Ryan loves working at Borderlands where he gets to have La Miche and believes it is one of the best beers available anywhere.

  • Sabrina Sieg


    Born and raised in Wisconsin, Sabrina earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Wartburg College in Iowa before moving to Washington, DC to teach preschool. She then landed in Tucson to pursue a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology at the U of Arizona. She loves traveling, playing music, doing all things artsy, and hanging out with her dog, Stormm. Her favorite beer is the Churro Cream Ale.

  • Savanna Saldate


    Savanna is a Tucson native who has a B.S. in Family Studies and Human Development from the University of Arizona. Her passion for craft beer began during her travels around the country. When she’s not cleaning out the hop filter or brewing, you can find her on a hike or camping with her German Shepherd Calvin.

  • Susy Teran

    Operations Manager

    Susy is originally from Hermosillo, Sonora. She has been living in Tucson for 19 years and absolutely loves it. She is passionate about science and especially when it relates to beer. When she is not managing the taproom, she is typically at a festival or on top of Mt. Lemmon. Her favorite beers are La Miche and Toole Hazy IPA infused with coconut pineapple.

  • Xochilt Cota

    Administrative Manager

    A California native, Xochitl grew up in the Coachella Valley. She went to Culinary School in Palm Desert and was able to travel the world--cooking for athletes like Serena and Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, P. Diddy, Ciara, Gwen Stefani, Pau Gasol, and even Bill Gates! On her off time, she works at the El Dorado and Empire Polo Clubs, training and working Polo horses. When she is not in the taproom, you can find her riding horses, trying new beers, and enjoying the great outdoors. Her favorite Borderlands beer is the Kapahi Lime.

  • Zachary Cassity

    Brand Embassador

    Zachary (Zakcity) is born and raised in Tucson. You can usually find him hanging out at Borderlands most of the week, especially on Karaoke Fiesta Fridays. Some of his favorite beers are Citrana and the fiesta sour series.  He loves to hike and travel. One of his favorite adventures was spending 2 weeks in Japan.
